HOW TO PLAY

MagRom | How to Play

The introduction of magnetic forces introduces many new aspects into the game. Playing a game with a full set of 18 coins is complicated (while being great fun!). Hence we shall illustrate the concepts with the simplest game - one with just 3 coins, White, Rani, and Black.

This simple version of the game starts with the three pieces arranged in a straight line, at the center of the board, at some angle. To begin with the line will be parallel to the player and the opponent side, as shown below:

Now, white has to pocket the Rani, and cover it with his white piece. Unfortunately, they are jointed! So, how do you do this? Some tricks we can play 1) Hit the 3-piece collection with the striker hard, and separate all the coins, and play like normal carom. But then, unless the white player is very lucky, and pockets either the Rani, or white, the turn is lost. Black has an advantage, since now the coins are separated, and normal carom can be played.

In addition, the bonus of pocketing Rani and white together is lost. 2) Hit the 3-pieces collection, to separate the Black only, and leave the white joined to the Rani.

But we lost the turn, unless we are super lucky to have pocketed white and Rani, and removed black simultaneously

If we are unlucky, we may separate out the white, and leave black with a golden chance to pocket the Rani and black together, and get a bonus, and win the game.
