Professor of Practice and Head of the E- Health Research Centre (EHRC)
Education : Ph.D. (Cornell University)
Dr. Srikanth obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University in 1986, and a B.Tech (Mech. Eng) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
His research interests are in the areas of mobile and internet based applications, eHealth, data privacy, Computer Graphics, Geometric Modeling and 3D Printing, He is a co-convenor of the E-Health Research Center at IIITB (ehrc.iiitb.ac.in), and is actively involved in multipe collaborative research projects in healthcare, with a focus on mental health and public health. His team at EHRC has designed and developed healthcare solutions that have been deployed at the national and state levels.
Prior to joining IIITB, he had over 28 years of experience in the software industry. He was earlier at Sasken Communication Technologies, where he handled business, technology and product management roles, and lead various product and R&D initiatives, especially around wireless and multimedia technologies and mobility. Earlier, he co-founded and lead software development for a startup in the US, focusing on geometric modelling with applications in mechanical design and geo-sciences.
