Professor of Practice at IIIT-Bangalore and IIITB - COMET Foundation
Education : Ph.D. (Rutgers University, NJ)
Dr. Ajay Bakre joined IIIT-B and COMET Foundation as Professor of Practice in July, 2024. He has over 27 years of industry experience in startups, corporate research labs and product groups of multinational corporations. His areas of expertise include Scalable and Resilient Distributed Systems, Storage Systems Architecture, Distributed Object Storage and High-Availability Unified Storage Platforms, Wireless Networks, Core Networks and Access Networks. He holds 9 US patents and he received an ACM SIGMOBILE Test of Time Award in 2016 for his paper titled: “I-TCP: Indirect TCP for Mobile Hosts”, published in 1995.
Research interests: Distributed Systems, Storage Systems, Cloud Computing, Wireless Networking, Advanced Communication Systems, Security for Mobile Applications.
