Assistant Professor

Education : Ph.D. (IIT Delhi)
Sanju Ahuja is an Assistant Professor at IIIT Bangalore. She holds a Ph.D in Design from IIT Delhi, and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi as well. She did her postdoc at the Inria Centre at Université Côte d'Azur, France. She is a human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher, and primarily studies dark patterns and usability violations on the web – which are designed to influence users to spend more time, money and share more personal data with digital platforms. Her research aims to measure the prevalence and impact of these problematic design practices, and to provide concrete recommendations to inform regulatory guidelines and support regulatory action within established and novel legal frameworks. Her past research has been focused on EU regulation, and one of her main goals is to apply this research to the Indian digital landscape.
