IIIT-Bangalore, in collaboration with the Akshaya Patra Foundation, is thrilled to announce the successful culmination of the eagerly awaited Miles4Meals Marathon, which unfolded on April 7, 2024, in the heart of Bangalore. This noble endeavor garnered an impressive INR 2,51,000 through marathon registrations and generous donations.
Miles4Meals stood as a beacon of unity, embodying our collective commitment to encouraging positive change in society. Each participant's registration directly fueled the Akshaya Patra Foundation's mission, facilitating the provision of nutritious mid-day meals to over 2 million disadvantaged students in government and government-assisted schools across India. Notably, the illustrious NS Dattatreya, a 95-year-old celebrity marathon runner and a source of inspiration to many, graced the Miles4Meals Marathon with his presence.
Joining Miles4Meals provided participants with a profound opportunity to stand in solidarity with the Akshaya Patra Foundation's noble cause of ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry. Every stride taken during the marathon contributed to this invaluable endeavor.
This annual event not only promoted physical fitness but also served as a powerful testament to our unwavering dedication to supporting underprivileged school children nationwide. It is fitting that Miles for Meals coincided with World Health Day, underscoring the intrinsic connection between physical well-being and social responsibility.
