IIIT-B is starting a 4-year B.Tech.(CSE) programme in  the year 2024. The aim of the program is to produce high quality graduates in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), who are well equipped with skills that are required to solve real world problems using advanced computational techniques. The program will produce a well-prepared and well-motivated workforce to undertake careers in research and industry involving innovation, knowledge creation, engineering, and entrepreneurship. The B.Tech.(CSE)  programme follows a flexible curriculum that covers the theoretical underpinnings of computer science as well as a range of essential topics in computer systems. The curriculum gives due importance to the foundational aspects of computer science, as well as develops in students the necessary engineering skills for addressing emerging technological challenges. Students from fifth semester onwards register for elective courses in line with Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as recommended by AICTE and other regulatory bodies. As part of the mandatory branch electives students must do courses from the area of TCS (Theoretical Computer Science) and SSY (Software Systems). The programme also includes a mandatory internship or thesis.

Students interested in the core of CSE domain are encouraged to specialize in one of the following listed domains by earning additional 20 credits in that specific domain. Students completing CSE specialization (non-minor) with CGPA above or equal to 3.5/4.0 will be graduating with a B.Tech. (Honours) in CSE.

Following are the optional specializations available for B.Tech. (CSE).

1. TCS  (Theoretical Computer Science).
2. SSY (Software Systems).
3. NC (Networking and Communication).

Alternatively, the students can earn a minor in a non-CSE area by successfully completing additional 20 credits in the area chosen. The minor could be in one of the following listed areas:

1. VLSI (VLSI Systems).
2. DT (Digital Society).

Note:  The above lists of areas are subject to change and refinements from time to time.

Note that students can complete B.Tech. (CSE) programme without the requirement of earning a specialization or minor with extra credits.
