•     SM 801 Advanced mathematical physics-1 (4 credits) (including linear algebra and  vector spaces & tensor analysis, introduction to stochastic processes, etc)

•     SM 602 Introduction to nonlinear dynamical systems (4 credits, introductory course at the level of Strogatz)
